Donald Trump delivered yet another “embarrassing” imitation of a bodybuilder while speaking in The Villages, Florida (USA), last weekend.
The American president, who had already done the imitation in 2022, 2023 and, more recently, in January this year, decided to do it again while saying that his wife, Melania, believed the imitation was “not presidential.”
“She particularly hates the image of me showing the sweat and strain of the young girl trying to win the weightlifting competition against a group of women and a gentleman who decided to go to the other side. He transferred to the other side and transgender, anyone?” Trump said during the speech.
“She gets up and her mother was down there. Oh, her mother was so proud of the American flag, a little American flag… and she was cheering for her child, who was a weightlifter — a very good one — and she got up and grabbed it.”
“And she did it. ‘Come on, darling, you can do it.’ The mother is shouting, the father didn’t care because he doesn’t believe his daughter can beat the person coming up next. The father is saying, ‘There’s no way she beats that guy,’” the president continued.
“So she gets up and puts— and she’s ready. ‘Come on, darling,’ the mother is shouting, ‘darling, I love you darling.’ ‘Oh, Mom, I can’t do this.’ She couldn’t do it. She failed, she was devastated.”
The comment came as part of a broader speech about the participation of transgender people in sports. As a result, some internet users said Trump had “lost his mind.”
“The president of the United States needs some psychological help,” said Canadian journalist Mark Slapinski. “I can’t even imagine the shame and embarrassment that two-thirds of the American people are feeling,” wrote another internet user.
